SEA-BASED ACTIVITIES REPRESENT 50% OF THE OCEAN POLLUTION

Marine litter, the human-made waste in the ocean, is a pressing issue. Sea-based activities contribute 50-60% to this problem. Among the litter, fishing nets dominate as plastic waste, endangering marine life and entering the food chain, posing risks to human health. To address this, reducing single-use plastics and promoting sustainable fishing practices are vital. By minimizing disposable plastics, adopting eco-friendly alternatives, and using biodegradable or durable nets, we can curb ocean pollution. Proper waste management onboard vessels and recycling discarded nets also aid conservation efforts.

  • Once the marine litter waste is collected by the Crafted in (blue)® network, our manufacturing partner sort it by type and color, wash, flake and compound it into a new material : Crafted in (blue)®

  • Marine litter found : HDPE, PP, PET, NYLON (PA6), SHELLS, ALGUES
