_WHERE BRANDING CAME FROM ? The current meaning of the word «brand», applied to an organization’s trademark, goes back to a technique developed in much earlier times. The process of creating a logo out of signs and symbols was already practiced several thousand years ago. Keepers of livestock branded them with a single initial letter, or several interwoven letters, to identify the farmer or farming community to which they belonged. In the Middle Ages it was also customary for soliders to be branded with the monogram or emblem of their warlord.

_FIRST BRANDS, monograms. A monogram, as its etymology suggests, was originally a single letter with embellishments of some kind. Today what we mean by a monogram is a design based on the initials of a person’s given and family name. In the days of the Holy Roman Empire this type of archs and other rulers.
